Challenge a guild from its profile. After acceptance, set dates, rules, and scoring; publish the player page and open a season for signup.
Why we built Guild Wars
From the Convoke team
Guilds help you find your people. We built Guild Wars because we also want those communities to find each other. There are so many players, playstyles, and stories just beyond your usual table.
A friendly challenge gives you a reason to say hello. You cheer for your guildmates, share a memorable game with someone new, and maybe find another community you’d love to play with again.
We want the competition to bring people closer. Agree on rules together, keep the welcome warm, and make having fun part of what your community celebrates.
Choose your rhythm
Pick the format that fits your people. The tables, registration, and standings live on Convoke.
A little rivalry, every week
Keep the excitement going with weekly pods. Players share their availability and schedule games themselves, while you follow the standings across a season.
Both formats work for an event within your guild or a friendly rivalry between communities.
More than a spot on the leaderboard
Challenge a community from its profile. Once their owners or admins accept, set up a shared event and get to know a new crew.
Run an internal league or tournament from Guild settings → Guild Wars. Make your next club night or Discord season feel special.
Agree on dates, scoring, and rules before you publish. Clear expectations help everyone come to the table ready for a good time.
Use the event as a chance to welcome new opponents, share deck ideas, and turn a friendly rivalry into another reason to play together.
From first challenge to first shuffle
Guild owners and admins set up the event. Players register themselves and join their assigned tables.
You need a Convoke guild (playgroup) to host or enter Guild Wars. Create one or join an existing community from the guild directory.
For a rivalry, challenge another guild from its profile and wait for their owner or admins to accept. For your own members, open Guild settings → Guild Wars and create a league or tournament.
Open Set up event to choose title, dates, scoring, rules, and Discord links. Inter-guild wars need at least two accepted guilds before you publish the player page.
Create a season so players can self-register on the public Guild War page. Registration closes at midnight Eastern on the start date.
In a league, generate weekly pods, publish tables, and let players set availability. In a tournament, publish timed rounds (and an optional top cut) so players find their tables.
Everyone has a part to play
Challenge another guild, register for open seasons, choose your allegiance for that war, and share your availability.
Accept challenges, create events, set scoring and rules, publish the player page, and run pods or rounds.
Bring your deck, follow your assigned table, and help make new opponents feel welcome. A good game is something you build together.
Before entering into battle, you might wonder...
A Guild War is a scored Commander event for one or more guilds. Run it as a tournament with timed rounds, or as a league with weekly pods that players schedule themselves.
Yes! Guild owners and admins can create an internal tournament or league from guild settings. Members self-register on the public war page, then play on Convoke tables.
Any guild member can challenge another guild from its profile. The other guild’s owner or admins accept, then both sides configure dates, scoring, and rules before publishing the player page.
A league spreads weekly matches that players schedule themselves. A tournament uses timed same-day rounds run by an admin, with optional Swiss pairing and a top cut.
Nope. After you publish the player page and open a season for signup, members of participating guilds can self-register while registration is open. Staff can still enroll or drop players.
Gather your guildmates, meet a new community, and make your next Commander event a story you’ll tell together.
