How to scan MTG cards with a webcam
1. Mark a spot on your desk
Aim any webcam at your desk — or use your phone as the camera — and draw a scan zone where each card will land. No stand, funnel or sorter needed: your desk is the scan zone.
2. Flip cards through it
No tap per card: put it down, pick it up, next. Each card is recognised as it settles — up to 100 cards a minute.
3. Fix and export
Adjust printing, finish or count, then export a ManaBox CSV with Scryfall IDs or a plain list for Moxfield, Archidekt and other sites.

Yes. Every account can scan 100 cards for free. Supporters get more every month: 125 cards on Uncommon, 500 on Rare, and unlimited on Mythic.
Do I need to install an app?
No. The scanner runs in your browser. Use any webcam, or scan a QR code to turn your phone into the camera for your computer. It also works directly on a phone.
How fast can I scan cards?
Up to 100 cards a minute. There's no tap per card: put it down, pick it up, next. Your pace depends on your hands, your camera and your lighting.
Do I need a stand or a card sorter?
No. No stand, funnel or sorter needed: your desk is the scan zone. Mark where cards land and flip them through by hand.
How do I scan a whole pile of cards?
Aim the camera at your desk and mark a scan zone. Put a card in the zone, take it away and put down the next one. Each card is recognised as it settles, so you never press a button per card.
Does it know which printing I have?
It picks the printing that best matches the card in front of it. If you're scanning one set, you can lock it so every card lands on that set, and any card can be switched to another printing in a tap.
Can it tell if a card is foil?
A camera can't reliably see foiling, so cards start as non-foil — or foil, if you set that as your default — and you mark the finish in a tap. Etched and other special treatments are supported.
How do I import my scans into ManaBox, Moxfield or Archidekt?
Export a ManaBox CSV, which carries each card's Scryfall ID so printings import exactly, or a plain deck list with set codes and collector numbers that Moxfield, Archidekt and most other sites can import.
What happens when the scanner isn't sure?
Close calls are flagged for review instead of being added silently. You keep the card, pick from the most likely matches, or search for the right one by name.
